As an employer, you can't do without your employees. Sick leave and its costs have a significant impact on your business. A sick employee incurs wage costs, employer contributions and the costs of a replacement.
Due to the increasing demand for extra support throughout the entire absenteeism process, we have added a unique service to the Absenteeism Care package especially for entrepreneurs who are affiliated with the ANKO: the Absenteeism Director.
This service is an addition to the occupational health and safety service and helps you with issues surrounding legislation and regulations, communication with involved parties, applying for various benefits and how to deal with a sick employee. With this service we will work with you to ensure that you get a better grip on (the costs of) disability and absenteeism within your company.
It's impossible for entrepreneurs to keep up with laws and regulations in addition to doing business. And that's where we come in with our auxiliaries. For example, every year we have to deal with changing laws and regulations, which are constantly evolving. Our specialists (Verzuimregisseurs) have joined the Register of Case Managers and keep our clients well informed of the latest changes in laws and regulations.
We look over their shoulder at the absence files, to make sure that all parties involved do what they have to do. In doing so, we emphatically do not take over the role of the occupational health and safety service provider or company doctor, but help you fulfill the obligations you face as an entrepreneur. Our Verzuimregisseurs are trained to help you with this.
In order to take advantage of schemes, however, employers need to know where to go for this and within what time frame. Employers often don't have this sorted out, which is why we look over their shoulder to spot it. We know where they need to be, what they need to do and what the deadlines are. These deadlines are pretty sharp and before the employer realizes it he misses a deadline which means he is no longer entitled to a certain arrangement. This can mean that he misses out on thousands of euros and that is of course a shame!
It still sometimes happens that the tax authorities allocate the wrong benefits when determining the amount of the differentiated premium Work resumption fund. If the employer is not alert to this, the employer may unjustly pay for benefits that should not have been passed on. It is therefore important to be aware of this in time.
Finally, the continued wage payment obligation of 104 weeks is also accompanied by obligations, such as the six-week evaluation on the employee's return. This requires input from a company doctor and a variety of other specialists. Our experience shows that entrepreneurs often receive good advice from the company doctor, but do not know what to do with it. This is where a lot of questions come in from clients to our Absenteeism Directors Debby and Loubna. We help the entrepreneur and guide them through the forest of laws and rules. We are then the sparring partner of the entrepreneur: how do we deal with this file? How do we deal with this advice from a specialist? What is an employment specialist?
