Don't give thieves a chance in your salon and store valuables safely. Theft is not insured if there are no signs of breaking and entering in your salon. It is therefore very important to safely store valuables such as exclusive brand products and your cell phone.

After a few clients, you have time for a little coffee break. You want to grab your phone to follow the most important news, but you can't find it. You look at your colleagues questioningly, but no one knows where your phone is. You look back at the camera footage and see that your phone is stolen! This kind of situation you hope never to experience, but unfortunately it does happen regularly. So have you done everything you can to protect your salon from theft?

Goods and inventory insurance

Every salon has property and inventory insurance that covers damage to your inventory and interior from fire, water or burglary. This insurance is similar to home contents insurance for private individuals, but one that insures the hairdresser's chairs, electrical equipment and inventory in your salon.

Does a customer or someone just asking for something take a supply of hair dye or gel unseen? Is your bag, wallet or expensive iPhone or that of one of your employees stolen while your salon is open? Unfortunately, if there are no signs of forced entry, the damage will not be compensated. Therefore, it is important to take the right preventive measures, so that the damage will be compensated on the goods and inventory insurance.

ANKO Verzekeringsdienst has purchased a goods and inventory insurance especially for salons with unique extra coverages for hairdressers. Read more "

What preventative measures can you take against theft in your salon?

  • Of course, you don't have to make your salon an impregnable fortress. You want to be accessible and make your clients feel welcome. With a few simple preventive measures, you can prevent personal items belonging to yourself and your employees from disappearing during working hours:
  • Display exclusive, sought-after branded products in a locked glass display case.
Never put your purse and personal valuables in plain sight. Thieves are lightning fast while your attention and that of your employees is focused on the customer.
  • The most secure way is to place one or more lockers or a lockable cabinet and store valuables in it. It reduces the chances of a quick theft and if that closet or locker does get broken into, at least the damage will be compensated.
