The parliamentary letter from the Housing, Support and Care for the Elderly (WOZO) program of July 4 confirms this picture: if it is up to the minister, there will be no expansion of the number of nursing home places. The new normal will be: 'by yourself if you can, at home if you can and digitally if you can'.

The influx of people with a mental disorder who are entitled to care and assisted living under the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz) is also almost 50 percent higher than expected. By March 1, 2022, 23,415 clients had been admitted to the Wlz, while a maximum of 16,250 had been anticipated. Consequently, there is a high demand for residential care locations for these and other target groups. The locations where this care is provided must move with the ever-changing world of care. Collaborate more intensively

 

The good news is that investors and healthcare institutions are finding each other better and better. In the first half of 2022, healthcare institutions sold more real estate than in the same period last year. Care institutions and investors are expected to cooperate more intensively in the coming years. Because sustainability is increasingly higher on the agenda at care institutions as well, but certainly also to reduce the shortage of care places.
