Protect your income with disability insurance

Why choose disability and accident insurance?
Did you know that one in 10 business owners become long-term disabled each year?

This can happen to you as a real estate agent, appraiser or building inspector as well. Whether it is burnout, a serious illness or lung covid; unfortunately, it is often out of your control. As a business owner, you do not receive government benefits for long-term disability, so you are responsible for your own income if you become disabled.
- Occupational disability insurance (AOV).
- Accident Insurance
If you have enough savings to cover several years without income, there may be no immediate need for insurance. But for most entrepreneurs, this is not realistic. It is therefore wise to take out additional insurance, and for this purpose disability insurance is an excellent option. In addition to AOV, you can also opt for accident insurance, which offers additional protection.
          The possibilities

To protect yourself from the financial consequences of disability, there are several insurance options available:
Disability Insurance
Disability insurance provides you with additional income if you are unable to work due to illness or an accident. You will then receive a benefit from the insurer. You can determine the amount you will receive depending on your wishes and preferences. This amount, and thus the premium, is tailor-made. Many people think that an AOV is "expensive" insurance, but for real estate agents, appraisers and building inspectors, the costs are often lower than expected because the work is usually not considered heavy or dangerous.
For whom.
AOV is for the business owner only and provides periodic benefits in the event of permanent disability. This insurance pays out in all cases of disability. Most AOVs pay out at 25% disability, with the degree of disability determined by an expert. For example, if you are 40% incapacitated, you are expected to still be able to perform 60% of your work.
Accident Insurance
You can have an accident during working hours, as well as at home or on vacation, in which, in the worst case, you become permanently disabled or even die. With business accident insurance, you (or your dependents) receive a lump sum financial benefit. This insurance can be taken out for your employees, and you can also co-insure yourself at an advantageous rate. This gives you extra security for a low amount in case of disability.
Accident insurance benefits:
- World coverage and 24-hour coverage: during working hours, at home and on vacation.
- A wide circle of insureds: for all your employees and the possibility of self-insurance.
- Beneficial premium.
For whom
This insurance is for both your employees and yourself as a business owner. In case of permanent disability, you will receive a lump sum benefit. The benefit is only in case of accidental injury and accident insurance is different in intent: in case of total disability, you will receive the entire amount regardless of whether or not you are able to work again.
