As an insurance broker, we are the link between you and insurers and act entirely in your interests. We have been doing this since 1953; our family business has existed for more than 70 years. Thanks to organic growth and various acquisitions, we have grown to become one of the ten largest independent insurance brokers in the Netherlands.

At the center of society

Corporate Social Responsibility

We consider it important to take responsibility, including in the social sphere. Therefore, we have a CSR policy that focuses on our role in social, ecological and economic society. 

 

This manifests itself in various initiatives. For example, we work as paperless as possible and encourage our clients to receive invoices and policies digitally. For every client who switches from paper to digital mail, we plant a tree in collaboration with Trees for All. In this way we contribute together to a healthier climate, more biodiversity and better living conditions. A piece of real security for everyone. The documents that are still sent by mail are sent CO2-neutral. We are also working with Maasstad Hospital to make the hospital more sustainable through solar energy generated in the Schouten Tower.

 

We also use our knowledge and experience to contribute to solving social and economic problems, for example by sponsoring top sports. Among other things, we are sponsors of Rotterdamse Sporticonen, Hockeyclub Rotterdam and Rotterdam Topsport.


Independent and customer-oriented

We are an unbound and objective intermediary. Because there are many insurers in the Netherlands, it is not possible to request a quote for every insurance from every one of them. Therefore, we base the advice for our relations on an analysis of a number of available and comparable financial services. We regularly select insurers who, in our opinion, have a good price/performance ratio. We pay particular attention to the quality of the policy conditions and the premium, but also to claims handling and speed. In this selection process we also involve our affiliated proxy company Schouten Zekerheid Assuradeuren B.V.  

 

Compensation Policy

This is how we provide real security for everyone.

Our remuneration policy is designed to make a positive contribution to Schouten Zekerheid Makelaars in Assurantiën B.V. as an attractive employer. Furthermore, our remuneration policy is focused on the long term and not on encouraging short term results, which could result in taking unwanted risks and/or acting contrary to the interests of the client or the company. A remuneration policy focused on the long term is also in line with our mission "Real security for everyone". As a family business, we offer our employees a competitive fixed salary. The performance of our employees is judged on integrity, solidity and customer focus. Depending on the operating results and the performance of the employees, there is the possibility of paying out a 13th month. This then applies to all employees and is fortunately the rule rather than the exception. Based on the above, we believe that our employees are not incentivized to act carelessly as a result of their remuneration.

In addition to the possibility of distributing a 13th month, the function groups advisors, team leaders and the Management Board, are eligible for variable remuneration. The structure of this variable remuneration is based on the achievement of both quantitative and qualitative objectives and is capped on the basis of the statutory rules in accordance with the Financial Services (Code of Conduct) Decree (Bgfo). Based on this remuneration policy, the employees of Schouten Zekerheid Makelaars in Assurantiën B.V. within these function groups can also share in the success of our organization, while at the same time the rules for a controlled remuneration policy are safeguarded.
