State pension age and benefits
When will my state pension start?
Your AOW age depends on your date of birth. Check your AOW age at www.jouwaowleeftijd.nl
How do I apply for my state pension benefit?
You do this through the Social Insurance Bank (SVB). You will receive automatic notification around your AOW age.
Is my retirement age the same as my state pension age?
No, these can differ. For example, your pension plan may assume age 68, while your state pension starts earlier.
What if I want to retire earlier than my state pension age?
You can, but your retirement benefits will be lower.

What does the amount of your pension depend on?
When you retire, a number of factors determine how much retirement benefit you will receive:
