The absence director helps you communicate with the various parties you have to deal with when your employee is sick. We also help you to limit sick leave within your hospitality company. So that you get a better grip on (the costs of) disability and absenteeism.
The service Verzuimregisseur is an integral part of the sick leave insurance. The rate from January 1, 2025 is 0.10% of your annual wage bill (excluding VAT).

What does the absenteeism package include?
This service has been put together to help hospitality entrepreneurs as completely as possible. The Absenteeism Package consists of:
The sick leave insurance
By law, you are obliged to continue paying the wages of a sick employee for a maximum of two years. With the KHN Verzekeringen sick leave insurance, the insurer will pay these wage costs to you for a maximum of two years.
The health and safety service
If you employ staff, a basic health and safety service contract is required by law. The arbo service offers you support and guidance throughout the entire process of sick leave for your employees. You get expert help with the reintegration of sick employees, so that they quickly return to work.
The Absenteeism Director
As an employer, you are expected to be familiar with all the complex laws and regulations, the rights and obligations of employer and employee, and to liaise with the various parties around the absence process.
Due to the increasing demand for support, we have developed a new unique service: the Leave Director.
The Absenteeism Director offers you as an employer important support during the absence of your employee(s) and complements the occupational health and safety service, answering all your questions around absenteeism, reintegration, occupational health and safety and UWV files and proactively working for you.
What are the benefits?
All in service
De-care services around reintegration are included, you will automatically receive monthly reimbursement of your sick employee's salary and we will arrange the transfer to the KHN Verzekeringen Verzuimpakket with your old insurer and health and safety service.
Intervention costs:
The following interventions are fully reimbursed (on the advice of the occupational health and safety service):
- Occupational health examination (€1,150).
- Second track (between €2,000 and €5,000)
- Coaching program
Avoid a UWV wage penalty
The company doctor and insurer will give you advice so that you comply with all the obligations under the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.
Gatekeeper Guarantee
Have you followed the advice and the UWV still imposes a wage penalty on you? Then the insurer will reimburse you.
What are the costs?
Sick leave insurance
The premium for sick leave insurance is determined by your company's sick leave over the past three years. In addition, the premium you pay depends on:
- The gross wage bill including vacation pay;
- Wage continuation for 95% in the first year and 75% in the second year;
- The number of excess waiting days: ranging from 10 to 130 working days;
- To include or exclude employer charges.
Health and Safety Service
A low premium rate of 0.65% (excluding VAT) is charged on the annual wage bill. Many other health and safety services charge a flat rate per employee per year, regardless of how many hours they work.
Absence Director
The cost of the Leave Director is 0.095% over the annual wage bill (excluding VAT) per year.
Where can I find my area's absenteeism rate?
Before we can prepare an accurate quote for you, we need your company's absenteeism rate from 2022 through 2024.
The absenteeism rate is the average amount of work time lost due to sick leave.
If these are not known to you, you can request them from your occupational health and safety service.
