Services and general terms and conditions

Our services
Quality Advice
The service we advocate means optimal openness and clarity. In our service guide we have laid down our services for both business and private clients. The service guide describes what you, as a client, can expect from us in terms of our working methods, our insurance products and our remuneration. It also describes what we expect from you as a client. Policy conditions apply to insurances. We also apply general terms and conditions to agreements for assignments and/or services.
Schouten Zekerheid has no obligation whatsoever to place financial products with one or more financial institutions. We are therefore completely free and independent in our advice.
In addition to acting as an independent insurance broker, we make use of our affiliated proxy company Schouten Zekerheid Assuradeuren B.V. This proxy company is authorized by several insurers to act on their behalf. This means that there are short lines of communication and quick coordination of insurance matters because, among other things, they draw up the policy themselves and, in many cases, may settle claims themselves. More information about the proxy company can be found on Schouten Zekerheid Assuradeuren B.V.'swebsite .
Naturally, we keep your interests in mind when doing so. In concrete terms, this means that we assess whether a more suitable product for you is available outside Schouten Zekerheid Assuradeuren B.V. If so, we will advise you that more suitable product. In practice, this is called 'unbound objective mediation'. If the products are comparable, we prefer Schouten Zekerheid Assuradeuren B.V.'s own products.
Financial Supervision Act
Schouten Zekerheid is supervised by the Financial Markets Authority (AFM). The AFM has granted our firm a license to mediate (2:80) in non-life insurance, life insurance, pension insurance and savings insurance. We may also act as authorized agent (2:92) in non-life insurance. Furthermore, we may advise (2:96) in participation rights in investment institutions. Schouten Zekerheid is listed in the register under number 12009678. Registration is a legal obligation. The register can be consulted on the website of the AFM.
Advice (personal) or not
If you purchase insurance or a financial product from Schouten Zekerheid without our advice (by mail, telephone, e-mail or via our websites), or via an insurer directly, or via a so-called master agreement, we work according to the principle of Execution only and no customer profile is drawn up. In this way we accommodate groups of consumers who do not need extensive advice and would like to be directly responsible for purchasing and managing their insurance and financial products themselves. In the case of Execution only, you are therefore responsible yourself for the choice of insurance and financial product, as well as for the adjustment to your personal situation. You can read more information in our service guide.
Skilled and integrity
Schouten Zekerheid is not only Registermakelaar in Assurantie (RMIA) and Register Pensioen Adviseur (RPA), but is also a member of Adfiz. We subscribe to the Adfiz Integrity Code and act in the client's interest. We are not guided by insurers or banks. We and our staff are professional, expert and with integrity. Our remuneration prevents sales-driven advice. Our clients receive honest services at honest prices. Our goal extends beyond today's customer; we aim for a long-term relationship.
